Exercise Physiologist Jobs in Sydney & Melbourne
Be an Exercise Physiologist with Drift Health
Hey EPs, we're on a mission to help kids with autism be kids.
If you want your work to fit around your life (your hours, your areas and clients who suit the way you work), let's chat.

Exercise Physiologist Roles Available
There are two ways to work with Drift Health. Either way, you're mobile, your caseload is mostly kids and teens on NDIS plans, and we match referrals to the areas and times you give us.
- 1
Contract EP
Work the hours you want, with clients matched to your areas and schedule. It suits EPs after extra paediatric work alongside a current job, or building their own caseload.
- 2
Full Time & Part Time EP
A set number of days with Drift Health, a steady caseload and a team behind you. As we grow into Melbourne, there's room to take on more than a standard therapy role.
What You'll Earn & How It Works with Drift Health
What You Earn
- Contract: a percentage of your billables, travel included, rising with your experience and time with us
- Employed: above award rates plus super and a CPD allowance, growing over time
What We Handle
- New enquiries, intake calls and NDIS plan checks
- Matching each family to a clinician whose areas, times and style fit
- Help with invoicing
- Help keeping your calendar and client communication on track
All we ask is great sessions, up-to-date notes, and that you stay in touch with your clients to manage your schedule.
3 Reasons Why You Should Join the Team
I built Drift Health after years of back-to-back private practice, 8 to 10 hour days and clients who weren't a great fit. This is the job I wanted back then.
Work When You Want
Work when you want and as much as you want, with pay set up around your goals.
Built Around Your Schedule
Got HYROX at 6pm? Need to be home by a certain time? Give us your available slots and we'll only book clients into them.
Matched Participants
We match you with clients who fit your therapy style and personality, because the work is better for everyone when you enjoy it.
What It Looks Like Working with Us
Most sessions happen after school, roughly from 3pm, at the child's home, their school or a local park. Here's how a referral gets to you.
Matched to Your Ideal Clients
We want you to enjoy working with the Drift Health community, so we only match you with clients who suit your therapy style, your areas and your available times.
We'll Handle the Admin
Focus on what you do best: being a great therapist. We help with invoicing, paperwork and keeping your calendar on track, and you'll never need to feel salesy. All we ask is that you keep your notes up to date and stay in touch with your clients about scheduling.
Grow with Us
We're out to shake up the usual physio and EP business model. As we grow into Melbourne, new roles will open up beyond standard therapy positions.
We're Expanding Across Australia
Tell us where you'd like to work when you apply. We'll assign you areas close to that and only send you referrals inside them, so you're not driving across the city between sessions.

Yutori
One of the main reasons why I chose to expand Drift Health was because of the same reason why you're interested in working with us.
I've worked in the back-to-back private practice. Aged care. You name it. And I felt exactly what you (may) have gone through.
Clinic politics, draining back-to-backs and a fade of the reason why you got into health to begin with.
Your job should be a vehicle to support the life you want. Not the other way around.
And while doing so, you should be fulfilled in who you're helping.
That's what we're building here at Drift Health. Yutori.
It means leaving yourself some margin. Not too much pressure, just enough to keep growing in a way you can sustain.
If you're sold on the idea, I'd love to speak to you.

You Have Questions, We Have Answers
And we're here to help.
How much do you pay exercise physiologists?
Contractors earn a percentage of what they bill, and that percentage goes up with your experience and time with us. Employed EPs are paid above award rates, with pay that grows over time. Travel is billed through the NDIS and counts towards contractors' billables.
Is this a contract or an employed role?
Both. Contractors work under their own ABN and choose their hours. Full time and part time EPs are employed on set days. You can tell us which suits you when you apply.
How many clients will I get?
It depends on the areas and slots you give us, because we only book into the times you've offered. Most of our clients are school-aged kids, so expect most of your sessions after school. We recommend taking on at least 3 to 5 clients a week.
Can I keep my current job?
Yes. Plenty of the EPs we speak with already work elsewhere and want a few local paediatric clients on top. You give us the slots that are free and we fill those.
Do I need experience with autistic kids?
It helps, but it isn't required. What matters more is that you enjoy working with kids and can turn a movement skill into something they want to do. We'll give you clinical support along the way, but it starts with your own curiosity, because we're looking for EPs who want to keep improving their skills.
Can new graduates apply?
Yes. We prefer at least a year of clinical experience, but if you've worked with kids or have clinical experience that shows you'd suit the role, we're open to a chat.
Where will I be working?
In families' homes, at schools and in local parks, within your assigned areas. We're mobile, so there's no clinic to commute to.
How does travel work?
Travel is billed through the NDIS, and if you're a contractor it's part of your billables. Everyone, contractors and employees, is assigned areas, so you won't be driving from one side of the city to the other between sessions.
What does Drift Health handle, and what do I handle?
We handle enquiries, intake and matching, and we help you with invoicing and with keeping your calendar and client communication on track. You run the sessions, write your notes and stay in touch with your clients to manage your calendar and schedule.
How long does hiring take?
Usually within 7 days from applying to your first client, once we've matched you with the right clients and all the paperwork, including your screening checks, is done.
